The Medical Education Building at the University of California, Merced supports the campus’s expanding medical education and health sciences programs, developed in partnership with UCSF and UCSF Fresno to address critical healthcare workforce shortages in the San Joaquin Valley. The facility will provide state-of-the-art instructional, clinical skills, simulation, research, and academic support spaces that enable a B.S.-to-M.D. training continuum grounded in community-focused care. Designed to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, the building will also house public health, psychological sciences, and health research programs. As an all-electric, high-performance facility, the building aligns with UC Merced’s sustainability goals and UC systemwide climate commitments. The Medical Education Building represents a significant investment in health equity, workforce development, and improved health outcomes for the region.
