Wallace-Dutra Amphitheater: Celebrating the Class of 2009's Vision

Located next to Little Lake in the heart of campus, the Wallace-Dutra Amphitheater was the brainchild of UC Merced’s Class of 2009. The students started a fundraising campaign to fund the project, though they fell short of their goal. Thanks to a $250,000 grant from longtime supporters of the university, Joel and Elizabeth Wallace, the theater was completed in 2014.

Also known as Little Lake Amphitheater, the Wallace- Dutra Amphitheater provides UC Merced with a beautiful new venue for plays, concerts, recitals and other events. The grassy hill and accessible seating accommodate approximately 2,000 spectators.
